How it works
- Open Ludix and choose Tic-tac-toe in the games on the home screen.
- In the settings, pick your opponent: two players, easy phone or unbeatable phone.
- Tap a square to place your mark: the winning line lights up and the score carries over from game to game.
What you can do
- Two players on the same phone: X and O take turns.
- Against the phone, at two levels: easy (it wins when it can, otherwise it plays at random) or unbeatable (it never loses).
- Score over several games, draws included; who goes first switches every game.
- In a multiplayer game, duels with everyone on their own phone: the winner stays and takes on the next player, or a knockout tournament.
- Crosses and circles told apart by shape, not just color; on a computer, keys 1 to 9 work too.
- Share the result as an image with your group.
Great for
- A quick break for two, no pen and paper needed.
- Teaching kids the game with the phone on easy.
- A night of duels: the winner stays, the next player steps up.
Frequently asked questions
Can you beat the unbeatable phone?
No: it works out every possible continuation and never loses. Play without a mistake and you get a draw. To win, pick the easy level.
How do two people play on two phones?
Create a multiplayer game: players scan the QR code, then the host picks Tic-tac-toe. Two players face off on their phones while the others follow the grid on theirs and wait for their turn.
How does the tournament work?
Single elimination, with the bracket on every screen. With an odd number of players, one of them plays the phone and goes through with a win or a draw. A draw between two players is replayed, with the other one starting.
Do I need to install an app or create an account?
No, tic tac toe runs in the browser, on phones and computers, with no account. You can also add Ludix to your home screen.
