How it works

  1. Open Ludix and choose Life points, or Commander counter, on the home screen.
  2. Set the starting life and the number of players, from 2 to 6.
  3. Tap the left half of your panel to remove a point, the right half to add one; a long press or a swipe counts 5.

What you can do

  • From 2 to 6 players: face to face for two, on two rows beyond that, with the far side flipped so it reads from across the table.
  • Starting life of your choice: 10, 20 or 40, or a custom value up to 999.
  • Up to three extra counters per player: poison, energy and bonus.
  • Commander counter: 40 starting life, commander damage tracked separately for each opponent (21 from the same one knocks a player out) and optional poison (10 counters knock out).
  • Change log where quick taps add up to a single line: “-3” rather than three times “-1”.
  • A player at zero is announced out, and the winner is announced when only one is left; the screen stays on during the game.

Great for

  • Magic: The Gathering duels at 20 life.
  • A four-player Commander table, with each commander’s damage.
  • Any card or board game where everyone has life points to track.

Frequently asked questions

Does this life counter work for Magic: The Gathering?

Yes: 20 starting life by default, an optional poison counter, and a Commander counter at 40 life with commander damage. Ludix is an independent tool, not affiliated with the publisher of the game.

How do I track commander damage?

In the Commander counter, open the damage panel from the area of the player who was hit and add the damage taken from each opponent. It also removes life, and 21 damage from the same commander knocks the player out.

How many players can play?

From 2 to 6 on a single device. With two, the panels face each other; from three players up, they sit on two rows, like around a table.

Do I need to install an app?

No, everything runs in the browser, on phones and tablets, with no account. You can also add Ludix to your home screen, and once opened, the tool keeps working offline.
