Ludix

What board game should we play tonight?

A full shelf and nobody can decide? List your games once, say how many of you there are and how much time you have: Ludix picks a game that fits at random. And the game log remembers who wins at what.

How it works

  1. Open Ludix and choose “What shall we play?” on the home screen.
  2. Add your games to My game shelf: a name is enough, and you can set the player count, length and tags later.
  3. Under Tonight, set the players present and the time you have, then tap “Pick at random”: “Another one” sets the game aside, “Let’s play!” keeps it.

What you can do

  • A shelf of up to 300 games, with search: player count (1 to 20), length of a game and tags (party, strategy, co-op, family, kids, cards, dice, quick, two-player).
  • Only games that fit are picked: the number of players present, the time you have (15, 30, 60 or 90 minutes, or no limit) and an optional mood for the evening.
  • “Favour games we haven’t played in a while” option: a game forgotten for six months is seven times more likely to come up than one played today.
  • Nothing fits? Ludix suggests relaxing the settings, without the mood, without a time limit or with another player count, and shows how many games would then fit.
  • Game log: the game, the date, the players, the winner or winners, and optionally the scores and a note. Games from the dice score sheet, French Tarot, Belote, the score keeper and the resource counters are logged automatically.
  • Stats for the week, the month, the year or all time: each player’s wins and win rate, the game they win most, and the plays and top winner of each game.
  • A page for each game with its last play and its stats from the log.

Great for

  • Game nights where choosing takes longer than playing.
  • A big collection where half the boxes are gathering dust.
  • A friendly rivalry: finally knowing who wins most, and at which game.

Frequently asked questions

How does Ludix choose the game?

It picks at random among the games on your shelf that play with the number of players present, fit in the time you have and match at least one chosen mood. With “Favour games we haven’t played in a while”, neglected or never-played games are more likely to come up.

Do I have to fill in every detail for each game?

No, a name is enough: a new game starts at 2 to 6 players and 30 minutes, which you can change any time on its page. Your shelf and your log are saved on your device.

Where is the game log?

Under Game log, on the Ludix home screen. You can log a game in seconds, find it by day, period or game, and correct or delete it at any time. Stats by player and by game are on the same screen.

Do I need to install an app?

No, everything runs in the browser, on phones and computers, with no account. You can also add Ludix to your home screen, and once opened, the tool keeps working offline.
