The impostor game
Everyone gets the same secret word except the impostor, who gets a close one: Cat against Dog, Beach against Swimming pool. One clue word each, then you vote to unmask them, everyone on their own phone.

How it works
- The host creates a multiplayer game, players join with the QR code, then the host picks Impostor and deals the words.
- Everyone sees their word on their phone; taking turns in a random order, each player gives one clue word.
- Everyone votes on their phone, then the host reveals the roles, everyone’s word and the points.
What you can do
- 200 free word pairs, plus 60 Expert pairs with very close words (Crocodile and Alligator) with Ludix PRO.
- My word pairs: the host adds their own, one per line, mixed in with the pack.
- Each word can only be read on its player’s phone; a player without a phone reads theirs on the host’s screen.
- Optional clue timer: 20, 30 or 45 seconds, or up to 2 minutes, then the next player speaks.
- Voting on every phone, never for yourself; in a tie, nobody is voted out.
- Points: +1 per vote against an impostor, +1 to every civilian if an impostor is voted out, +2 to each impostor who gets away.
Great for
- Nights with friends, to bluff and suspect everyone.
- Family dinners, with the simple words of the Classic pack.
- Team events, with everyone playing from their own phone.
Frequently asked questions
How many players do you need?
Three or more, up to 30. Ludix suggests 1 impostor up to 6 players, 2 up to 10, then 3; the host can change it, as long as civilians outnumber impostors.
Does the impostor know they are the impostor?
By default, yes: their card says so, along with their similar word. The host can turn this off to play the Undercover way: the impostor gets a close word without knowing it is different.
What is the Mister White variant?
One of the impostors gets no word at all: they listen to the others and bluff. They never speak first. If voted out, they try to guess the civilians’ word; if they get it, they win the round.
Do I need to install an app?
No: players scan the QR code and play in their phone’s browser, with no account. The host and any players without a phone can share a single device, passing it around.
