Categories game online
A letter is drawn, everyone fills in their sheet on their phone, and the first to finish shouts Stop! The app collects the sheets, checks the first letter and adds up the points.

Start a game
- The host creates a game and picks Categories; players join with the QR code.
- A letter is drawn: on their phone, everyone writes one word per category starting with that letter.
- When time runs out or someone calls Stop!, answers show up by category: challenge, vote, then the points come in.
What you can do
- 22 ready-made categories (first name, country, city, animal, job, object, sport...) plus your own, 3 to 12 per game.
- Stop!: whoever has filled every box ends the round, the others get 5 more seconds.
- Rounds of 1 min, 1 min 30, 2 or 3 minutes, or any other length; 1 to 10 rounds per game.
- Hard letters (Q, X, Y, Z) left out or kept in, and never the same letter twice in a game.
- Automatic checking: an empty box or a word that doesn’t start with the letter scores 0; accents and a leading “the” or “a” are ignored.
- 2 points for a unique answer, 1 if someone else has it too; a doubtful answer can be challenged and goes to a group vote.
Great for
- Game nights and family dinners, no pens or paper to hunt for.
- Big groups: up to 30 players, host included.
- Classroom or team activities, in the room or remote.
Frequently asked questions
How many people can play?
Up to 30 per game, host included. The host fills in a sheet too, hidden behind a button since their screen is often seen by everyone. A player without a phone can play on the host’s screen.
Who checks the answers?
The app automatically rules out empty boxes and words that don’t start with the letter. Every other answer is accepted unless a player challenges it: it then goes to a majority vote (a tie means accepted).
Is it like Scattergories?
Same idea: one letter, a list of categories, a race against the clock. Here each player writes on their own phone and the app does the checking and scoring, with 2 points for a unique answer and 1 for a shared one.
Can we play with just one phone?
Yes, with Letter or topic on the home screen: it draws a random letter without repeats, runs the round timer with a Stop! button and keeps score for up to 12 players. Sheets are then filled in on paper.
